Led by People Who've Been There

We understand the pressure and reality of raising funds because we've done it ourselves.

About Grant Writers Canada

ABOUT

our story

We've Done This Work. Now We Fund It.

We've sat where you sit.

Our team has founded and led charities, built businesses, and sustained creative practices. We are a group of leaders who have navigated funding cycles, board pressures, and the weight of keeping something meaningful alive.

That experience shapes everything we do. Grant writing is the craft, but organizational understanding is the foundation. We know how funders think because we've worked within the systems they support. We know what makes an application compelling because we know what makes an organization worth funding.

We work across charities, and businesses and bring the same depth to each. Whether you're applying for your first grant or building a long-term funding strategy, we help you find the words, the structure, and the clarity to grow.

Marko Curuvija

Owner, Grant Writer

I hold a Master’s degree in Sustainability and have spent the past decade building and supporting initiatives that aim to create meaningful impact. My background includes founding multiple start-ups, including one of the first electric bike companies, as well as a Nation-Wide charity called The Existence Project that centred on humanizing homelessness through storytelling

I’m particularly drawn to work that sits at the intersection of purpose and execution. I value the process of taking an idea that matters and shaping it into something that can be clearly understood, supported, and realized.

Alex Longo

Grant Writer

Alex Longo knows what it takes to build something from nothing and how to make the case for it. As the founder of her own small business and a former Director of Scouting Operations at Scouts Canada, she's worked both sides of organizational growth: securing resources and delivering results.

Her nearly six years at Scouts Canada, where she supported funding applications and led national-scale operations, gave her a deep appreciation for how mission-driven work gets communicated to funders. Paired with her certification in Crucial Conversations, Alex brings both strategic clarity and precise communication to every grant she touches.

She's drawn to organizations doing meaningful work — and knows how to help them tell that story.
